Why "North Star Books"?

We have many people ask us about the name of our store and its significance. 

Did you know that the North Star is the only star that does not change locations in the sky?  That is why, for centuries, people have been using the North Star to guage direction.  Wether they were trying to get from point A to point B or simply find their way back home, they could find the North Star and know where they were and where they needed to go. 

God, too, never changes.  If we keep our eyes on Him, we will know where we need to go in order to get to our destination.  And if we are lost, we can look to Him and we can always find our way home.

It is our desire that the product and atmosphere in our store will direct your eyes to God, who will give you

"Direction In A Changing World."

Who We Are

North Star Books is independently owned and operated by Rick and Donelda Lea.   We both graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in the early 80's.  Rick worked for Hewlett-Packard for 26 years and Donelda has worked at Social Work and Bookkeeping.  The vision for North Star Books was birthed in our hearts in the summer of 2006.  We began moving forward that fall and in July of 2008 we opened our doors for business.

We created our store with you in mind.  We asked ourselves, "How can we make you feel special?  How can we bless you as soon as you enter our doors?" 

The answer: provide an atmosphere of elegance, comfort, and excellence.  Offering you a place where you can come away and rest awhile.  Provide a peaceful place with exceptional coffee, using the best ingredients and taking all the care that is involved in making an excellent cup of coffee.     

Our store is as much about the experience as it is about the product.  A lot of care goes into the selection of  just-the-right products at just-the-right prices.  Don't let the "high-end" look fool you.  There is something for every budget at North Star Books.
